So, is your venue not letting you have confetti? This is a very annoying place for a bride who has had childhood dreams of having some thrown at them. Here are 5 ideas that can still create the fun and still as magical. There are lots of ideas you could use but today I have particularly chosen those that will save you from having to deal with stuff in your hair or into your dress...but also bearing in mind the reason some venues wont allow confetti has to do with the clean up that will be involved afterwards. While I compiled this for you, I also came across where this confetti throwing tradition actually came from. A lot of brides do it for the fun of it, but actually this tradition, which dates back to the Roman era does after all have some lovely thoughts and intentions behind it. When this tradition started, people used to throw grains from their local area at the bride and groom after their marriage as a symbol and good wish for prosperity and fertility. Which I think was such a nice and thoughtful gesture in which everyone at the party was involved in. This celebration has been perpetuated till now, though the grains in some cases have been substituted with other alternatives which the couple prefer...even thou, grains of rice are still used today! 1. Bubbles - this is a fun and romantic way of making your exit from the ceremony as Mr & Mrs. Everyone can have fun and participate. If you have a large bridal team of 6 or more they could help you with this, alternatively give each guest to blow while you make your exit. The important thing to note with this is that you need a decent number of blowers to make it work otherwise it will look a bit awkward if there are only a few. 2. Ribbon Wands - this is another beautiful backdrop to your exit where your guests can line up for you and wave these for some beautiful pics. You could also attach some little bells to them to create some excitement and drama on your exit. Again numbers have to cut it right. 3. Ballon - similar to how you can have your guests line up down the exit with wands, you could hand each one a ballon to hold up as you exit. p/s you will need these filled with helium so that they can float and create the right effect for your pics. 4. Sparklers - these are little fire works sort of things which your guests can light up for you. They are perfect for setting the celebratory mood for your reception and also amazing for your exit pictures, particularly if its an evening wedding! However you do need to be careful with these, especially with your hair and dress, so dont let them come too close. 5. Party horns / Vuvuzela! - I couldnt leave these out..ha ha ha... they can be an amazing/annoying addition to your exit:-) depending on your wedding style. These are some sort of musical plastic instruments from South Africa, which were made famous by the world cup. They make the most crazy noise but they are fun and interactive. Some people have even used them to cut short a speech thats gone too long...in a fun way:-) They are great if you have traditions from Africa. p/s you dont want these in a childs hand or a lot of people, so you could combine them with any of the ideas above, especially the ribbon wand. so heres to happy celebrations..I hope this has served you today:-) which one did you find most interesting?
