So, it appears as if the sepsis in Michaels blood system has not been caused by an UTI after all. His infectious disease doctor believes that his picc line became infected and that the surgical sites have too. She will be consulting with an orthopedic surgeon about removing both of his feet to prevent the spread of further MRSA....which is what I and several doctors suggested over 5 years ago when we started this rodeo. He cannot feel or use his feet at all; yet, he has been adamant about keeping them while they have continued to rot. Well, now he may not have that choice. Why must people make things so difficult for themselves and their loved ones by REFUSING to be more aggressive and proactive about their own health? This ordeal has caused me, Kathy, and Linda much physical, emotional, and financial stress....not to mention exposing us to countless viruses, MRSA, and bacterial germs when he summons us to bring him stuff in the hospital. And while Im not totally lacking in compassion for what he is going through, I am feeling used up. I cannot continue to care for someone who does not value their personal health as I do mine....or who does not think about how their actions affect those who live and take care of them. *Thank you all for letting me vent about this.*
