So it is true, freedom of speech is alive and well here in the Free State. Last week I went on the Brown for Governor FB page and offered a few thoughts and some commentary on the Lt Governors past performance and also joined several of the ongoing discussions offering my (sometimes opposing) point of view. Today, I went back to possibly comment on last night’s debate and Mr. Browns less than stellar performance to find I am no longer able to post comments to the page. This remains the case even after I liked the page to see what would happen. Hmmmmmm I wonder if this is by design or just some type of a techno glitch? I am thinking some social network maven on staff must be charged with the near impossible task of monitoring the account for the rare and less than opinionated opposing point of view. This is what is known as real freedom of speech here in the Free State of Maryland. As I side note, you have no idea how difficult it was to click the “like” button for the Brown for Governor page, even if it was only for a rudimentary scientific experiment. I was in a panic when I then returned to the site and was unable to select “unlike.” Thankfully, eventually, I was successful. Perhaps their network wiz should figure out a way to stop folks from “unliking” the wanna-be Governor and force them to stay onboard. The staffer that was successful in the task of keeping the rats on the sinking ship the SS BROWN, I am sure, will have a great shot at a high level cabinet position in the upcoming Brown administration. It also crossed my mind after seeing several dark colored, window tinted SUV’s slowly cruising my street this morning whilst I cut the lawn, that perhaps I should be getting my tax records and receipts in order for after Brown is elected. Me thinks that perhaps I might be getting a visit from the state and federal taxman in early 2015 if not sooner. On second thought, nah, they would never do that, nowhere in our history has any politician (democrat or republican) ever used their office in order to get even with their opposition, never.
