So its been written!! Just in case you dont know the true magnitude of what you saw today Ill try to give a tiny bit of incite. From the time this guy was 18 there were no Memorial Day weekends at the beach, no valentines day dates, no summer vacas, no 4th of July celebrations and constantly missing god knows how many functions, birthdays, etc. an average of 200 games a year for 23 years and thanks to an iron strong FAMILY and supporting cast not many if any flaws. It wasnt done in Toronto or Seattle.. (No offense) it was done in New York.. Derek Jeter youve done this with class and a humble approach. I myself am undeserving to have teammates in common with you and I hope that no player has learned from you but I hope parents and instructors have learned from your guardians, coaches. This career was not built from trophies every weekend and constant praise.. It was built on discipline, a strong family, support cast and struggle. A struggle which led to calmness when all was at stake.. Putting things in perspective. The send off Jeter received today is one thats deserved by a lot of athletes who toed the line and went through the grind for several years. I hope that not only the athletes take notice but more importantly the parents and coaches that look to athletes as a meal ticket, scholarship, or anything else. This mans support staff simply helped him and wanted to see him succeed and with less tools than some of his competitors he completely exceeded expectations. So not only Re2pect to Derek Jeter but MUCH Re2pect to your family and friends...something about women named Dorothy... They just know how to raise men!!
