So its insurance time again, For those of you new with our group, we have a liability insurance policy which we pay annually. This insurance has been necessary in the past to procure a space for us to have our weekly meetings, as well as has covered us individually at times in order for us to take on various juggling performances. It will continue to protect both us as a group and The Passing Zone, our more than generous meeting hosts, in the event of some injury, damage, or unforeseen circumstance which may someday prevent us from continuing our stay at the clubhouse. Basically, the Passing Zone is not necessarily requiring insurance from us, but if we do ever have to find a different place to get together, that space would DEFINITELY require it. Our insurance carrier has already told us some time ago that if we were to let the policy lapse, they would never write us another policy. Similar coverage from other insurance carriers would definitely be more costly, not to mention difficult to obtain if possible to get at all. The policy went up some this year and we have also been providing water, soda and snacks which was not originally budgeted for. I certainly dont want to stop having those available, and its certainly not right to expect that our hosts provide them for us. We have $344 dollars, short $160 of the $504 needed to cover the policy. The payment is due on May 11. The Orange Jugglers need to pull together now and come up with this extra bit of money. Please either plan on bringing some extra cash to the next meeting, or if you cant make it to that, you can send us a check payable to Steve Gerdes at 5535 Monlaco Road, Long Beach, Ca. 90808. Or as Jen Davis is doing, give it to Steve at the Isla Vista Juggling Festival this weekend. The Gerdeses will make the payment on time but in the event the OJs still come up short, well hit you all up again for more. Any overage will be put into the fund for future snacks and water, etc. as well as put toward next years payment. We thank you all for your support of the Orange Jugglers. JUGGLE ON!!!
