So its the last day of what has undoubtedly been a fantastic year - TopicsExpress

So its the last day of what has undoubtedly been a fantastic year for the society - two very successful productions of The Sorcerer, one in St Andrews and one in Harrogate, the latter winning two trophies and four nominations in UniFest being highlights. We also provided one of the main epicentres for the first ever Global G&S Day in May. Society members and alumni were also involved in productions by Oxford University Gilbert & Sullivan Society, Peak Opera, Oxbridge Opera Company, SavoyNet and Dauntless Theatre in the summer, as well as starring in Byre Operas acclaimed Albert Herring in June. More recently we had our fantastic concert for the Friends of Scottish Opera and the Brechin premiere of our new semi-staged production of HMS Pinafore, which will be performed in St Andrews at the end of January. Weve also produced several concerts for good causes and local groups including our Burn concert back in January which we will once again repeat in 2015, as well as supporting MSF, Project Zambia and our friends at St Andrews Chorus. We also started our highly successful cabaret series in September allowing society members free rein to perform any repertoire and to show off other musical interests. And we continue to look ahead towards #Burn2015, further performances of HMS Pinafore, #Patience2015, the second global G&S day and many more concerts and events. Thank you to all our supporters for your ongoing support and on behalf of all the society all the best for a happy and peaceful 2015. And todays video for the #twelvedaysofgandschristmas - well 135 years ago The Pirates of Penzance received its NY premiere. So to celebrate the USs special relationship with G&S here is the Joseph Papp Broadway Pirates: https://youtube/watch?v=O7JYLc8CrE0
