So jetting across the pond for my annual pilgrimage to Tornado Alley & a shot from this years chase-cation. The sun was getting low & a developing storm caught mine & my chase buddy Daves eye as we were headed back south towards Oklahoma. The conversation went a bit like this. Dave Oooo that looks quite pretty, maybe we should stop & try & shoot some lightning Me I was thinking the exact same thing, where shall we go? I dont want to stop here on this road as theres nothing interesting, we need to find a barn or something. Driving frantically looking for a location with something interesting before the Sun got too low & the light lost I spot a sign on the side of the road. How about Chimney Rock, will that do? We both grinned like idiots & raced to it & set ourselves up & started shooting. The funny thing was, back in 09 wed visited Chimney rock & said how cool itd be to get a storm over the formation. Only 5 years in the making. Hope you like.
