So last night I couldnt sleep and didnt feel like editing so I decided to watch Carl Theodors Vampyr and Seijun Suzukis Tokyo Drifter, I gotta say in regards to Vampyr that for something made in the 1930s I didnt expect it to be as haunting and well done. Parts of it I didnt like too much and I thought it was slow, but I kinda appreciated that it took its time and opted for good story telling and great shots (and hella fog). I watched Tokyo Drifter before like maybe 5 years ago and I still think it is pretty awesome today, kinda got a cool surreal, experimental feel that you dont always see but once you see it you can notice latter day directs borrowing from it (which if I ever get to direct films, I probably would too). If you havent seen Toyko Drifter, and are bored, check it out.
