So lets talk about offering a guarantee on a business - TopicsExpress

So lets talk about offering a guarantee on a business opportunity... and Im not talking about a trial period where you can get a refund within a certain number of days... Im talking about making an outright guarantee that people will make money... I was not going to say anything here, but I keep getting solicited and see a constant barrage of people doing this... so Im speaking up. If youre one of them, this is not a personal attack.. please dont take it that way.. This is merely my opinion and may be useful for you in evaluating your decision. Heres the problem as I see it... When you offer a make-money guarantee, you are speaking to the wrong crowd... the crowd that will most-likely only join because of they hear or see make money guaranteed. They will not read the fine print where it tells them that in order to enact the guarantee, they have to achieve a certain level of performance... NO...they will just join, expect to make money... then quit, demand whatever you offered as a guarantee... then be hot-smokin mad when they discover they did not qualify for the guarantee because they wouldnt put down the bag of chips, get off the couch and do any actual work. Do you really want that?... Is that helping or hurting your reputation by promoting something like that? ...what does it do the the industry? You see... anyone joining a business opportunity because it has a guarantee to make money is not using the kind of thinking required to ever achieve success... ...they are of the mindset that they are going to make money by joining... and when that doesnt happen.. they get mad, they blame, they flame, etc. Yes, you can absolutely get some fast signups when you offer a guarantee... just like I can get a bunch of fast signups by offering some new miracle weight loss pill.... that does not mean its a good idea, or a solid business plan. If youre in this game to just make a few fast bucks... then power to ya! Its your business... but... If you want to build a solid, sustainable business in this industry.. you really have to stop chasing the quick buck and be very selective about what youre promoting... and how youre promoting it. Remember that your marketing activities are a direct reflection of you. And for those looking at an opportunity.... Remember, its an opportunity.... and you dont need anyone to offer you a guarantee... you can guarantee your own success in virtually anything! If you agree... or have a differing opinion.. feel free to voice it :) ~ Jon Ochs
