So life is pretty hectic, but I am super thankful at the moment as a lot of things I love about my other life (that Dj thing) have really come together. This Friday, I am doing an all vinyl night with my great friend, Justin Skratch. We have a swap meet before the party where everyone can bring records for buy/sell/trade and last time it was just incredible. To talk to other collectors and have such a wide range of musical tastes was pretty incredible for someone who has such a broad palette for music. Then next week is a new thing on Friday. My Refresh project kicks off with ‘Klasē. This is something I am taking a whole lot of pride in. With the city lacking a step up nightlife options, I wanted to introduce a series of events for people to have a reason to get dressed up for and really enjoy a night out without being a stuffy thing. So young and fresh and classy it is. Wrap up the month by getting down with some incredible musicians? Yes! Me and Tony Ngo, Rudy Love Jr, and Adam Case. Getting down in a live music environment is always a personal fave because of the audience. The folks that come out to hear -music-, not some dance beat. Not to mention the usual improv sessions that go down when a stage is shared are always magical moments. So anyways. Just thankful for it all and felt like sharing all the good. The roots of my hobby (records), the progression of this wichita scene (refresh) and live music, all in one month. Yup. Life is good.
