So many of us have traveled in and out of Bradley International - TopicsExpress

So many of us have traveled in and out of Bradley International Airport (we knew it as Bradley Field in the old days). Though not in Granby, it certainly figures prominently in our collective memories. I realize just how handy it was to have that airport so close by. Ive read that they have finally begun to remove this old original terminal building, after remaining mostly unused for many years. When I was a young man, if you had a date you really wanted to impress, or to celebrate a special occasion, you could have dinner at the Terrace Room. Im pretty sure in this picture, it sits next to the open observation deck in the center of the terminal. Or, for a night of dress-up Disco dancing in the 70s, there was the Cloud Nine Lounge, The gigantic bar in the center of the lounge had an enormous glass chandelier which created quite a focal point......rows and rows of hanging glass rectangles with probably hundreds of bulbs lighting it. You were able to watch the planes coming and going from the bar. The bar was immortalized in the 1975 movie the reincarnation of Peter Proud, starring Michael Sarrazin and Margot Kidder. There are scenes in the movie of that great chandelier. I was not able to find any pictures of the bar inside. Do you have special memories of the airport, or the restaurants?
