So many people are up in arms ranting and raving about this resembling digestion. Its not even close. Its more of a what can HCL do to this? experiment and does not resemble digestion at all. The two ingredients are :burger and HCL. This does not resemble the digestive process. There is chewing involved, which would have started the digestion of carbs in your mouth using the salivary enzyme amylase. After chewing and swallowing (in which the blob of food is called a bolus), the substance would end up in your stomach, not looking like this burger does. (If you can swallow a whole burger in one piece, please change jobs and do that for a living.) This burger called chyme, would probably be pretty disgusting looking once it arrived in your stomach. Im sure any food would, including healthy food (Please, someone try this with kale). Next, pepsinogen mixes with hydrochloric acid in the stomach to produce pepsin. This mixture helps digest food. Hydrochloric acid doesnt digest by itself. So if you want to look at this as a test of the acidity of HCL on a PH scale, then youre good to go. Super cool. But as a reflection of actual digestion? So far off the mark. The real threat of fast food? Sodium, fat, and the fact that it is processed. And honestly, what did everyone expect it to look like?
