So, maybe some of you remember my story of Ollie, the quintessential Fire Element horse from a month or so ago. He is such a character! Today, for the first time, he saw me working on another horse first. At the time, he was being tacked up to be ridden before I worked on him. So, hes standing in the cross-ties, looking daggers at Harrison (the horse I was working on), and looking at me like a cuckolded husband. The more tack she puts on him, the lower his head gets, and the more he pouts. She tries to lead him down and out of the barn aisle but she has to drag him. They were back within a short time, because she said he was so naughty and wouldnt concentrate on being worked. She said she wanted to rinse his legs off, so she drags him down to the wash stall, and as she is turning him around, I hear her shout, NO! You are NOT going to drag me! I look over to see him heading toward me, up the aisle, and yes indeed, he IS dragging her up to me. So I have to escort them back to the wash rack so she can rinse his legs, him pouting the whole time. Then his turn came and he was SO happy. Really animated and appreciative of everything I did. She is convinced that he thought he wasnt going to get his massage today!
