So much negativity surrounding the club. :( John Fenty being abused again, though he hasnt helped himself with some of his statements, and his alleged account on The Fishy forum. Im going to kinda stick up for Mr Fenty, though I havent always agreed with some of his statements. But, if it wasnt for him and the rest of the board, our club would be a lot worse off. In fact I doubt wed have a club if it wasnt for Fenty and the board pumping money into the club and getting very little, if anything, out. Ive seen some (not many) mention about the need for relocation and criticised the idea, with the same old crap about not being able to fill Blundell park and being in a tin pot league. ...First of all, again Ill say this; League status and attendances has NOTHING to do with why relocating is needed. Think people need to open their eyes and see the bigger picture, and not be so short sighted. With high maintenance costs and lack of facilities (bars and food outlets, etc), the clubs losing out on potential extra revenue. And with redevelopment of BP not being viable or doable, (when you take the fact the stadiums surrounded by houses) we wouldnt be granted planning permission (too much red tape). ...Secondly; What do you mean we cant fill BP? Maybe not every game, but looking at the bigger picture and not being short sighted like many, where you not there against Lincoln? What about the FA cup run we had against Scunny and Huddersfield? This talk of not being able to fill BP is clearly false, as we all know we can depending on who were playing, how well were playing and what league we may be (for example, I remember a few times back when in the football league, wed had sell outs). I know we have had a bad couple of games, and being in this league doesnt exactly fill anyone with excitement. But we are in the play offs, if we go on another run, well all (well, the majority, there will always be some pessimists) will be back on the were going up band wagon. We can try and predict what will or might happen, but no one can be 100% certain that their prediction will be right or wrong. No one really knows what WILL happen. Who knows, Hurst and his squad might surprise us again, we might win the pointless trophy and get promoted. All we can do is wait and see, and hope for the best. How many slagged off John-Lewis before and at the beginning of the season? Now hes a fans favourite. Keep you minds open! We all get frustrated, but should never give up hope. I myself have criticised Hurst, but for as long as hes here, Ill back him (same goes for the players) and hope for the best. Lets move on. Lets hope that for as long as were in the play offs and in with the chance of promotion, we get promoted. Ive always said, all I want is promotion back to the football league, I dont care how we get there. With passion and pride we stand together. Onwards and upwards. UTM - Gary.
