So, my 10 year old streaker son came home from 5th grade Outdoor Science School today. Being gone 4 days, meant he had to run 2 days away from home, by himself up in the mountains. So pleased with his teacher--I presented this problem to her about a month ago--I explained that he has this streak of over 500 days and its very important to him to run at least a mile everyday. Well, she took him/us seriously and made arrangements for him to get up earlier than all other students. The initial plan was that he could do laps around a field and she would supervise, but then she found another teacher to run with, so they ran all the way up to the main road and back at 6:30 AM. Then, he came home today and we completed his RSD575 together. Hes very proud of himself and also somewhat embarrassed, because he says all the other 5th graders know about his streak now--even ones he doesnt know. I am immensely proud of his dedication and enthusiasm.
