So, my youngest daughter is busy. Very busy. Between rehearsals, lessons, song writing/charting, tech crew, school, homework, TMEA prep, TMTA prep, NATS prep, etc. She usually handles all her own scheduling and transportation, but its a little crazy, so I actually helped with scheduling a couple things for her today: haircut, accompanist rehearsals, lessons, online English, etc. But amidst all the craziness of her busy schedule, she was my hero today. How? While I was teaching and she was at school, one of my students had inadvertently not latched my door closed all the way upon leaving and the blustery wind blew it open, letting the dogs out into the cold, cruel world. When she got home from school, I was teaching away in my studio with the door closed, completely unaware the front door had been standing wide open for some time. Sarah set straight to work. Making calls, driving the streets, closing the front door... not necessarily in that order... And when animal control called, she drove to the vet office to get rabies shot receipts, then to the shelter to pick them up, then home to drop the dogs off, just in time before heading back up to a rehearsal... Foregoing her dinner to take care of business... I got that girl Chipotle (her favorite) for when she got home and Im glad I did. Heroes deserve an occasional burrito, when it is in our power to buy them burritos. Just sayin... :)
