So, normal white blood cell (wbc) count is a range of 4,500-10,000 depending on age/weight factors. At the time of my moms first bloodwork at the oncologists office, hers was 27,000. Her oncologist was extremely concerned about that. I can understand why! Im so thankful for her having an oncologist who has been with her from the start, 13 years ago, who is very aggressive in his treatments and, despite being cantankerous and curmudgeonly at times (IMO), hes absolutely brilliant and knowledgeable and he completely adores my mom so he goes beyond the extra mile for her. Im also extremely thankful for the technology and treatments that we have these days. They make all the difference in the world!
