So, on yesterdays post about products containing more sugar than you think the comments ranged quite a bit with everything from... Shocking, you uncovered that Pepsi and Twix have a lot of sugar! Who knew. to... I have often looked at how many grams of sugar are in a product, but didn’t realize what that came out to in regards to actual amount. I think my husband will be in denial when I show him how much sugar is in the 2 cans of soda he typically consumes in a day–more than the bottle! I know some of you are way ahead of the game when it comes to what foods to buy and feed your family, but that (unfortunately) does not mean everyone is in the know here. Tell me this... - Why are these products still on store shelves (and popular/well-known at that)? - Why are obesity and diet-related illnesses like type 2 diabetes still on the rise? - And, why are our children the first generation to have the destiny of a shorter life span than their own parents if everyone understands and is taking control of this massive over-consumption of sugar problem? I also want to add that I originally selected the pictured product lineup for a class of children I was teaching. I purposely did not pick things like salad dressing and sugary yogurt because that is not the message I wanted to send - I dont want this post to say dont eat salads or yogurt. I want this post to help motivate people to kick the junk food habit once and for all because lets face it - not everyone gets it because LOADS of people are still eating this stuff. So if you already know all this info please do me a favor and share it with your friends. Heres the post thats causing all the drama in case you missed it: 100daysofrealfood/2014/07/31/8-products-more-sugar-than-you-think-2
