So our little Pomeranian got surgery yesterday. There was a 2 tear in the abdominal wall and several loops of intestines and the bladder were stuck under the skin. We pulled them back into the abdomen and sewed up the gash. At the same time we spayed her. It looks like she has had several litters. We also discovered that her limp is due to damage to the ligaments in the knee. This is called an ACL tear and may need another surgery in a few weeks. Strangely the owner never came forward to claim her so she is now officially the BC SPCA Maple Ridge Branchs dog. This has been a very expensive month for the Maple Ridge SPCA. Any donations would help them provide care for animals such as this Pomeranian. Just so everyone knows. We are calling her Ivory and our own Dr hunter is fostering her for the next few days/weeks. Thank you again to everyone who called with well wishes for this little dog.
