So since its Veterans Day, Im just going to throw this out there for those who might be interested. I am getting together a team of Soldiers from the 338 MI BN to participate in their first ever 1/2 Ironman at Augusta 70.3, September 2014, after our return from our tour in Afghanistan. None of these Soldiers who are planning on signing up have ever done a full triathlon of any length. This race is giving them something to focus on during their time here at Camp Sabalu-Harrison. It is giving them something to work towards on a day to day basis in the midst of their military duties here. It is giving them a sense of hope, that they might just be able to do this huge accomplishment that they never even considered previously that they could do!!! I am excited for these troops. Since this is their very first tri-event, none of them have any equipment, no road bike, no tri clothing, no wet suits, no bike shoes, no helmet, no nothing. Im looking for sponsors for this Iron Bexar Team that we are putting together. If you or any companies you know would be interested in sponsoring these Soldiers to do this big event, please message me. I have the upmost respect for these veterans, and I hope to make it possible for them to be able to accomplish what was once just a distant dream, but may become a reality next September with a little help.
