So, the Conservatives admit that were not out of the wood at all - TopicsExpress

So, the Conservatives admit that were not out of the wood at all economically and more cuts will be necessary. So, did they put up taxes for the rich, a 95% tax on bank bonuses, maybe...etc., etc...clamped down on more secret bank scams... No. Theyve hit benefits...or they want to! The people with the least money who can afford least a cut in their income will bear the brunt of further cuts. Even the Tories of the 1930s tended to put the burden of national debt on to those with the broadest shoulders. This is, indeed, when the world of Upstairs-Downstairs shrank, finally almost to disappear. Harold McMillan, the Tory PM of the 50s, had seen the poverty of the rural working class in the 1920s and wanted to help them, but the extreme right-wing philosophy of Thatcher and her acolytes shows no empathy and understands nothing except the spreadsheet of the entire country, caring not one whit about the question of distribution of wealth which even the Bank Of England, hardly a Socialist organization, regards as a SERIOUS and growing economic problem. We HAVE to get rid of this rabble next year!
