So this is fun: Two days ago I brought my S80 to Portland Volvo for a routine service, and unfortunately it turned out that it needed quite a few things which arent cheap, but just had to be done. Way it goes, and these guys always do a great job and I trust them completely. The next morning I called to check in on when I could pick up the car, and the response I got was, Are you ready for some exciting news about your car? Apparently, the repairs were done, and the technician was finishing up the road test. He signaled to pull back into the dealership parking lot when another car rear-ended the shit out of him. My bumper was messed up, but the other cars airbags deployed and everything. Turns out it was an 18 year old girl with no license, who immediately fled the scene when the cops showed up, with her small dog in tow. As it turns out, the best place for your car to be when its damaged is at the repair shop, kind of like having a heart attack while you happen to be at a hospital. Very convenient. In the meantime, while this all gets sorted out, they gave me a 2015 XC70. I think I just want to keep it and they can have mine.
