So this is what I love about the 2-day format...I get to tell everybody about who we are featuring on our live webcast today at Oak Lanes... Currently in.... 1st place -- Mason Brantley closed it out great yesterday to sneak into the top spot heading into today. Mason was very even and very quiet all day as he just worked his way to the top spot. If you havent seen him bowl yet, today you will want to tune in for sure. 2nd place -- Fellow Metro Detroiter George Juszczyk shot 740 for games 5-7 to propel him up toward the top. 3rd place -- Jason Sollars from Lodi, OH was the 2nd highest lefty on the day behind Juszczyk. Sollars was another quiet and consistent bowler as he kept his head above water all day to finish in 3rd. 4th place -- Zeke Bayt from Columbus, OH is one of the brightest young stars in the country right now. Bayt celebrated his first EAGLE in 2013 as he took home the Regular Singles Title at the USBC Open Championships. 5th place -- Ronnie Sparks, Jr...is there anything we can tell you about Sparks that you dont already know? Fresh off his win at the Michigan Majors in Bay City last month, Sparks is certainly one to watch today in match play. 6th place -- Brandon Teddy of Farmington Hills, MI just kept himself close all day and used his 287 7th game to jump into the cut. Teddy is a newcomer to our MSBS events, so he could be a sleeper here. 7th place -- Another well decorated champion of many events, JR Raymond of Gaylord, MI is arguably the hottest bowler in the state right now. He is finishing in the top 4 or 5 of just about every tournament he bowls lately. The former Collegiate All American and SVSU National Champion will be tough to beat today. 8th place -- Jason Flaugh of Fort Wayne, IN is another new MSBS bowler, as we first saw Flaugh in Fort Wayne at the Pro Bowl West event last month. We dont know a lot about Mr. Flaugh, but he didnt come all this way if he didnt like his chances. 9th place -- Justin Ohara lives just a few minutes from the bowl, so he will be a local favorite today. Ohara actually shot a 129 in game 4, but he had some big games in there like the 277 in game 6 to give him a shot in match play today. Hes only 55 pins behind the leader, and that difference can be made up quickly with todays round robin format. 10th place -- Lonnie Jones was leading after 6 games but found himself in trouble after the final 2 games of qualifying. But Lonnie is a cut maker, and he finds himself in another cut this weekend. Lonnie is one of our biggest supporters as he attends nearly every event...and the guy is pretty good at bowling too. You can see the action live today via MichiganBowler.TV. The link can be found on ScratchBowling a little before 9:00am today. Live scoring will also be available.
