So this showed up in our company newsletter... :) Zagster’s bike rental service for Quicken Loans and Rock Ventures team members has been a huge success. But the thought on everyone’s mind is, how the success story will continue when a heavy Michigan winter hits Detroit? That concern was answered yesterday in a companywide email sent out by Zagster entitled, “Get ready to mush all over downtown Detroit!” After the first snowfall of the year, each Zagster bike rack will be replaced by a fully stocked Iditarod sled with 12 Siberian huskies, two insulated winter parkas and 20 pounds of seal blubber to serve both as food for the huskies and as a fire accelerant for those who get lost whilst sledding. “Sick of having to march through a blizzard to reach your next meeting? Tired of two hour lunch walks because of huge snow mounds? Fret no more! Zagster dog sleds have got you covered this winter, whether you’re in a rush to make it to One Woodward or you and your sweetie want a romantic sled ride down the river walk,” the press release read. Keeping in the spirit of outsourcing to Detroit, the program will create a small handful of jobs in the family of companies as well. In order to maintain the sleds and dogs, Zagster has committed to fill the following positions for every Zagster sled station: one dog groomer/feeder, one sled repairman, one Inuit navigator and one Inuit seal hunter to stock the sleds with plenty of blubber. Representatives for the huskies were thrilled at the prospect of new work for their clients. “We’ve been waiting for the next big break ever since Balto,” gushed head trainer Mario Johnson. The huskies barked in agreement.
