So, today I got confirmation that everything geek that has ever happened in my life is totally valid... Got to meet Ray Park, (Darth Maul, Snake Eyes, Toad, the list goes on), and Daniel Logan, (Boba Fett in Episode 2). I, of course, had my lightsabers, and when I got to Ray, he saw the small green one, and asked if it was yodas, to which I said no, but its yoda sized.. He got up, picked up the saber, and and walked around the table and started playing with it, James, (god bless him), got video. I then offered him the second saber, and he went to town, obviously having fun, (got more video), and then just chatted a bit, gave an autograph, took a couple pictures, (with Frito the Convention Chicken), which was awesome, chatted a bit more, and took a card for the site, asking about it, and the chicken and such. Then I said I should step aside to allow more people. The entire time, Daniel Logan was running around with his phone taking pictures. After that, I stepped to the side and found myself at Daniels table, with no line since he wasnt sitting there yet. He calls me over to show me the pictures he took, and was texting them to Ray for him to upload to facebook. He then took a picture with the chicken, and then came around his table, played with a saber for a bit, and stood there for at least ten minutes just chatting, giving some martial arts advice, talking about the sabers, the chicken, took a card, gave an autograph, then took a picture or two with me, and just stood chatting for a bit longer before James and I had to take off to let more people in. Later in the day, a few of the SSCOT people and I went around to the celebrities asking some of them if they would be willing to take a group picture for donation to the Pankriotic Cancer cure research charity we were raising money for. Everyone we asked said yes, Ray Park remembered my name, Daniel stopped for a picture even though he was running late to get to the airport. All three Power Rangers, the Red Ranger actually put money in right away, the blue ranger actually came over to the booth to give money and pose for a few photos. All the professional cosplayers we found, Glenn Morshower, took a couple pictures, and actually had us walk him to the SSCOT booth so he could find out more about the group, and the charity, and to chat some, (that guy is an amazing man, and a very great motivational speaker.) Also got to meet LeeAnna Vamp, and do some hopeless geek flirting... Which was fun, and she was awesome. This has been one of the most amazing weekends of my life, have made many new friends, gotten to see some old ones, and got to see a couple that Ive been talking to for years online and never actually gotten meet in the person. Its going to be hard to get back to normal life. Also, thus far, I lost 24 pounds through sweat... Today, I lost so much that the obi on my costume kept falling down, lol. Thank you everyone who has helped make this weekend as awesome as it has been.
