So today I had a free car wash and I was laughing because my door handles are broke, they are now finger handles. The guy deserved a tip after climbing thru the back seat. Not the point of the story tho. So back at the car wash I watch all these really nice cars being cleaned and the one in front of mine has an Obama sticker on it. I watched the guy clean the hell out of the car. He honked the horn and owner came to get the car, leaving the man with no tip. I felt bad and wanted to tip him, I would have if I had enough cash, but the money I had in hand was for my car guy. I promised myself next time Id come with more cash. My son looks at my we support military sticker and tells me I should have gotten a breast cancer sticker since I donate so much money and my mom died of breast cancer. I explained that I bought a toy to donate to the military family and its what they gave me. Today I went to target and a guy was standing outside asking for help to feed the poor. People paid him no mind as they walked in the store, I told him Id be back. We came back outside and he asked us to donate with a look on his face that I probably had forgotten, I smiled and said I told you Id be back, putting a small donation in the box. Thanksgiving day I witnessed the same thing but with salvation army. People passing, with carts loaded with new items, I stopped and donated a small amount. Maybe a week ago a fb friend was asking for donations for the tornado victims by his house, at lunch I got online and donated a small amount. So here is the thing, I dont make a lot of money, I drive a broken down car, Im staying with my parents currently, Im eating humble pie, but I found it in my heart to donate. All of that was less than $30 put together but it was something. I feel that people who know how it feels to be broke and lacking tend to be the ones that dont pass others in need up without a second thought. My belief is GOD gave us two hands one to help ourselves and one to reach out to help others. Im less than a saint, I am a sinner no doubt but I will not look the other way even when all I have to give is a little amount. Everyone is fighting their own battles, you never know their story. Smile if that is all you can give, but be kind, spread hope, dont talk the talk walk the walk.
