So today Im conducting undergraduate research here for the Center for Applied Behavioral Systems at Virginia Tech in the Psychology department. Ive been sitting on the grass in front of a church for a little over an hour... When all of a sudden a man stepped outside wearing a nice suit and tie and started to approach me. At first I thought Oh no, here comes this professional guy to tell me to get off the private property of the church. But instead, he says, So, are you doing some kind of research out here? Yes sir, I replied. Waiting for him to tell me to leave... Instead, he happily responds with, Well, if you ever get thirsty or need to use the restroom, theres a water fountain and bathroom right inside the church. With the incredible length of my hair, the longboard, the wife beater, I was sure this guy would reject me right off the bat and send me away, but instead, he only offered acceptance & help. I have witnessed Gods work today. And this man has proven the phrase to me, Come as you are.
