So today is the day I head back home once again, and as usual Im not really wanting to leave. Toronto has so much going on that meshes so very well with me, and I am going to miss the sense of belonging. That said, I know I am going to be coming back this way again this year sometime, and Im already making some plans as to what I shall do. Now for the extra information promised regarding my trip since this keyboard is actually useable for my fingers. Friday night has to be the high point. Got to have dinner out at the Rex, which is a Jazz and Blues bar on queen. After that, I went to a place called Club Nocturne, and as good as the Velvet Underground had been, this was even better. The atmosphere, the music, the people there, all of it added up for an incredible experience. I felt like this was very much where I was meant to be. To top it all off, I made a new friend as well, and I am hoping for continuing contact of some sort as time goes on. Saturday turned out the be rather lower key perhaps - I slept in very late and wasnt really all there until around 2 PM. Still was able to pull myself together to head out to the Velvet Underground that night for a retro party, and the place was soon packed. Some good old school dance tunes played, and I cut loose for awhile. Not quite the same sense of belonging this time around since the demographic in attendance was very different from the previous two nights, but still a good time. I packed it in a little earlier since the dance floor became over crowded, and I wanted to give my legs a little bit of a rest. Sunday was a nice and relaxed day - I did not really get moving until around noon, and I got to spend the afternoon and evening with my aunt, uncle, and cousin. Musical tastes were shared, good food was consumed, and it was a nice to just be at ease for awhile. Monday again pretty relaxed - I headed downtown again and spent a nice chunk of time shooting the breeze at the He and She clothing gallery - a place that really has become one of my favorite stores, and where Ive snagged some of the goodies I have been wearing for the past year or so. Late in the afternoon, I got to meet up with a friend for another round of dinner and jazz at the Rex. Good music, and well performed, although I do prefer a little more of an edge than what was played. And now of course theres today - as mentioned I will be headed for home, but not before I spend one last round downtown to say goodbye to the places I love so much. I also happen to be coming down with a sore throat as well, but at least it waited until after Id had all of my fun so I am still supercharged on awesome. Hell yeah!
