So today was quite likely the greatest day ever. I was the admission/discharge nurse, I did all admissions for my unit, and walked around randomly helping out where I could. It was actually super busy, but it felt really good to get to ask other people if they needed help, when its usually me asking for it. Truly feels fabulous to have the opportunity to give back. Heres the big thing though; just by chance I met one of the nurses that took care of Markie after the accident. She remembered him, had wondered for years what became of him, and how he recovered. Shes in neuro, and shes been there for over 20 years. Before that conversation was over we were both in tears, hugging in the hallway. A patient made me a hand drawn Thank You card with super cool artwork. And a Life Flight pilot sent me a t-shirt as thank you for taking care of his mom. I love what getting to do what I do. I feel so blessed right now.
