So today we had an appointment with Masons developmental - TopicsExpress

So today we had an appointment with Masons developmental paediatrician. We hadnt seen him for about two years. We wanted to get a feel for where Mason was developmentally before he starts school next year. He asked us a few questions and then played with Mason a little bit. From what he saw, he was very pleased. He said Mason showed no signs of an intellectual disability! Yay! We kind of knew that but it was nice to have it confirmed. He said that from what he saw Mason is probably at the lower end of the normal range which is really good for him. He also said that he didnt see any behavioural problems which he normally sees with a lot of kids Masons age with CP. Usually kids with more than 2 limbs affected by CP have these issues and it seems Mason doesnt which is good news. For those of you who know Mason, you know how happy and positive he can be. At the same time he still has his breakdowns but what 3yr old doesnt. Mason will be referred to the psychologists at the OCTC for further cognitive testing and possibly an IQ test which will be good information for the school system. Im looking forward to this. So all in all, a good appointment! :)
