So tomorrow I am being deported to China. It turns out my slothful - TopicsExpress

So tomorrow I am being deported to China. It turns out my slothful antics are distasteful to the Japanese and so I am to undertake one month of moral reform through forced labour in China. However, it is not all bad. It has been a long standing ambition of mine to penetrate the ‘red curtain’ and see the wonders of the world’s most advanced socialist society on the other side. I have long been a fervent supporter of communism and I feel that my loyalty will not go unrewarded. So instead of forced labour perhaps I can travel around and do some sight seeing. And instead of being trapped by the Great Firewall of China, perhaps I can access my Facebook account, so stay tuned for updates! To witness the world’s most pure communism in action has long been a deep ambition of mine. I doubt few people have ever known such a deep and burning ambition. To come so close to the cusp of realising it, the feeling is indescribable. It is like the fine mist that comes off a huge waterfall as tonnes of water plunge into deep, dark, cold water every split second. My programme of moral reform will begin from Hong Kong. However I won’t linger in that city of capitalism and sin for long; I will hastily make my way north to the city of Changsha, from whence that great helmsman Mao came forth. And from there I will head west to the city of Chongqing, a bastion of communism loyalty and support. Afterwards I will go east to the general Beijing area and into the heart of the Forbidden City. Though in all seriousness, I am looking forward to seeing the people of China, how they live, how they think, the foods they eat, and the landscapes of China. Before coming to Japan I only had the view of China as a foreign country from perspective of the English speaking world. However, to the Japanese, China is still very much a foreign country, although they view it as ‘foreign’ in different ways than English speakers, so I will enjoy comparing the similarities and differences of these two Asian cultures. So until next month, it’s goodbye beloved Japan. じゃあ、大好きな日本来月までさようなら。
