So tomorrows the 28th of January. Just another day, right? Go back to work after the Australia Day public holiday. For some, yes this is how tomorrow looks.... For me its the official end of 20 years of marriage; of being a wife; a best friend; and a lover. My divorce from Ken is being finalised in Court. My friends, both on and off FB, say this is a good thing, and I have to agree, as Ken and I fell out of love and grew apart and developed into different people. However .... It doesnt stop the hurt, the tears, the anger and the loneliness. Ken went from one bed to another; from a rented house to one with a mortgage - he landed on his feet. I hurt so much sometimes (both physically and emotionally) I cry myself to sleep. A hot wheat bag and a cat are no substitute for another body in t he bed (also stops the bed squeaking). Most of all, I miss the companionship. So did I waste those 20 years (just under half my entire life)? No. I have two sons of whom I am extremely proud and love to bits. Im a vastly different person to the 22 year old that got married in 1991, and I make no apologies for who the person I am. Tomorrow is going to be a difficult day for me, so please, spare a thought, a word or a prayer - theyll be most gratefully appreciated. Rhi (who has a big box of tissues on standby)
