So we decided to give the new restaurant The Cove a bid last - TopicsExpress

So we decided to give the new restaurant The Cove a bid last night. We had 830 reservations. We arrived at 730 and checked in and said we are here early for a few drinks outside. We were lucky enough to get a few barstools and I have to say the outdoor bar scene is very nice. They did a beautiful job with the deck and building. Good band playing. Good bartenders. Great place to have a few drinks on the water. Thats where they will make there money because it doesnt go well from here. Appetizers and raw bar only at the outside bar. We decided to try the sushi on recommendation. Holy starchy rice! Served with no soy sauce and forks. Not good! So after we were seated for our 830 reservations at 915, it got even worse. Strawberry spinach goat cheese salad was a mess. Handful of leaves with the fruit, cheese, and nuts just thrown on the top and no dressing. Chowder was thick like pudding. Ugh. Wife ordered the filet and it was burnt. Like burnt. She ordered medium and it looked like shoe leather. The sides were gross. Im still nauseous thinking about the mashed potatoes that the waitress decided to leave on the table until she brought the check. I got the fried clam roll and that was not good either. About 7 clams in the whole roll. Waitress was never to be found. Servers and hostesses running around with their verizon headsets on with no sense of direction. I dont think Ill be eating in the dining room again for a long time but like i said its certainly a nice spot for a drink! Thats if they dont run out if limes...
