So, we saw Noah today. I am very thankful for the discussions it will prompt, and I also realize I dont have a lot of ground to stand on to complain (since the people who made the movie didnt say it was based on Biblical/historical truth), but I do want to say that I am quite saddened by the way the film portrayed God. The God I serve is not like that...my God is full of love, grace, and forgiveness, and is patient with [us], not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance. (2 Peter 3:9). I am not telling you to not go see this film. However, I am saying that if you do go see it, or take your kids to see it, make sure that you spend some time sitting down with them and looking at the real story in the Bible--the story presented in the movie has more fiction than truth in it. Make sure you know the difference.
