So what can we do differently? Monumental Training’s successful Employer Engagement strategy and Marketing Plans place an emphasis on the employer at the heart of provision. Monumental Training uses Labour Market Information obtained from Regional Development Plans, Local Authorities, Chambers of Commerce, ethnic employer associations, sector specific groups and Jobcentre Plus to identify local recruitment trends and future needs. From this we plan flexible, proactive and customised activities geared towards real job opportunities rather than reactive job searching. Our Head of Business Development will support this process by updating Operations and the Contracts Team on any new developments in the area, along with supporting throughout the implementation. Monumental Training has over 400 local employers within our database with 75% active links. Our staff shares information on vacancies and placement opportunities through engagement and employer local meetings. We work directly with employers such as NISSAN (Manufacturing), B&Q, Asda, Matalan, Primark, Marks and Spencers, ASDA Walmart and Iceland designing and delivering customised pre-entry training. Our current delivery is focusing on Sector Based Work Academies within the Health and Social Care Industry this has been requested by JCP. Our model increases outcomes and sustainability above benchmarked and profiled contractual levels. Monumental Training’s Business Engagement Manager and Tutors use Organisational Needs Analysis tools to identify employers’ human resource and business growth needs and broker appropriate solutions. These include job brokerage, customised recruitment, work placements/trials, funding through SFA, Apprenticeships, Councils and Colleges.
