So what were you doing at this very moment 10 years ago today? I - TopicsExpress

So what were you doing at this very moment 10 years ago today? I was sitting on the island of Taveuni in Fiji drinking a REALLY bad amaretto with two of my closest friends. We were waiting for a little Nissan truck (damn near a Datsun) to carry us up to a spot on top of a hill over looking a beautiful purple sunset over the South Pacific. The drive its self was memorable as the Bea-dog ran along side and we bumped and jostled around. When we finally made it to the top there were more friends that had made the trip before us, just waiting, laughing, screwing around as always. There was music, and flowers that were so fragrant that I can almost smell them today. It was beautiful, even the rain had agreed to hold off so that we could enjoy the evening. So with Theresa on one side and Jean-Paul on the other we started down the path. It wasnt a long walk but it was a meaningful one. At the end of the path stood the man that I was to marry with in just a matter of minutes. His smile was so soft and loving, just like it has been every time I have look at him since. His eyes were a little teary but you could hardly tell. He waited for me as patiently as he has every day since and the love that I could feel, I still feel 10 years later. We stood in the center of a circle of friends that to this day are still some of the most important people in our lives. Jeff & Kelly, JP & T, David & Christina, Cheryl, & Chris thank you for being a part of that moment with us. Having you all there made it even more amazing. I cant believe that its been 10 years already. And to my husband Shawn, thank you for accepting, loving, & tolerating your wife. There isnt a single day that goes by that I dont thank the gods (and Tara) for bringing you into my life. I love you, happy 10th anniversary.
