So while defecating in the portable waste closet during Sunday clean up for WAR XI, I was meditating on the feedback I had been gathering and I believe I have an idea to make our woods battles truly epic. What I propose is to alter the forest battle into a campaign like battle with each of the two (or more) teams having a base where the chosen commander for the team will be equipped with a map (now that we have accurate maps) and a herald with a walkie. Heralds would also be posted at each flag and will radio when a flag has been captured and by whom, and when a flag is being contested/off. Commanders will then be able to direct their troops, though they will have to set up their own system of runners and scouts (which will give the lighter equipped skirmisher types a more vital role to play). While a point is contested (at least one living fighter of a different color in the designated zone) the res will be off. I would propose having 7 or even 9 flags, each put at a cross road to make them more difficult to hold. What do you think?
