So...while we are having the party at the park today...what started out as a beautiful day...ended up with us cooking out in a hurricane-like storm...as we are continuing with the party under the shelter...a man appears from the corner of the park seeking shelter from the storm...carrying everything he owned in two small sacks along with a sleeping bag...obviously homeless...doing the right thing...we offered him food...drink...and company...Wendell asked him if he stayed in the park...his answer was...he was disabled...received his money on the third...and while at the ATM on the 3rd trying to get some money...he was held up at gunpoint by two men and made to withdraw all of his money...in turn causing him to lose his apartment and everything he had but what was in those two small sacks...and though he was living here and there...his smile was bright and his mood happy as he announced he only had 20 days to go until he got his money again...I was really humbled and thanked God for all of my blessings...no matter how big or small...before we left him...he had plenty of food and drink...no telling how long since he had either...even though we left in a downpour...my heart was shining bright ~ ♥
