So why are people allowed to open shops and refer to themselves as mechanics? Over the last few days the daily driver, a C250 Mercedes has been having a problem with warm start up. Starts fine cold, but if you stop and shut it off it won`t start. I put my OBD 2 on it and the code reads crank sensor. Today I take it to the local certified wrench turner and give him the new sensor provided by my daughter and leave. Three hours later he calls and says he can`t get the old one out because it`s frozen to the block. I`m not a genius but I know that the block is aluminium and sensor plastic and cannot be fused. I went to shop and looked at it and asked for a pair of pliers and jiggeled the base of the thing and pulled it out. I then slipped the new one in screwed it down and plugged it in. The guy wanted $250.00 for tying up his bay for three hours. Who can guess what he got?
