The water over our heads is in honor of a college baseball player who was diagnosed with ALS in 2012 and is now paralyzed. Amyotriphic Lateral Sclerosis is a genetic degenerative nerve disease. The brain sends nerves to your spinal cord which are then sent to the rest of your body.. This makes movement.. When the nerves become damaged your brain can no longer tell the rest of your body to move. When you stop moving.. You start losing.. The lack of movement causes the muscles to atrophy and become paralyzed. When your chest muscles start to atrophy...you cant breath.
