So would you guys (whoever ever looks at my page lol) like to hear about my day from hell yesterday?...well guess its actually the day before yesterday now lol So I was scheduled to work 7hrs that day, from 2-10pm (lunch hour doesnt count), I get to work and even though Im supposed to work in ladies and ladies accessories that day Im told that everybody is running shoe freight (basically putting out new shoes) so I go to the back and get a cart and start loading up. Just as I finished a manager catches me and asks me if Ill hop on the register (I have numbers to run the registers so get called up when were busy) for a few mins I cant really say no so I said alright and dropped my cart off in shoes on my way to the front. After spending an hour on the registers lol they finally let me go, so I go to work on my freight cart and only 20mins later they called me back to the registers where this time I only spent 5 mins and had only 1 customer so what was the point there? I head back to shoes again only to be called away AGAIN something like 15-20mins later. Im told I have to do a pick cart, basically a cart of freight really, but though it shouldnt, this cart had freight from the entire store. Electronics, ladies, mens, infants, health and beauty, stationary, and even a vacuum...I cant even put away electronics, they have to have the security things put on them before they can be put out so why I had them I have no clue. So I take the cart and travel the whole store putting everything way, the electronics associates just had me drop all their freight off for them to get. When I got to the vacuum cleaners I dropped a metal, pole I guess, that we use to hang clothes in apparel on my foot...that thing is pretty much cast iron so you know OW, had a customer ask me if I was alright after they saw that fall on my foot and heard me hold back a few choice words lol So I limp back to apparel with the last few things on my cart, was picking them up to go put them away when Im told that our manager has decided, at about 4:50pm, that the heaping monster cart of ladies returns, everything thats been returned to the store and we can put back out, has to be gone by 5:20pm but after I finish the pick cart....I snort-laughed and then I was immediately called to the register and I cussed lol I didnt leave the register until just after 6pm and I only got off cause I HAD to go to lunch, finally finished the pick cart before I went to lunch. Stopped at the restrooms before I clocked out and when I went to get a paper towel to dry my hands, if youve ever been to Walmart you know how the metal towel holders are set up with the trash can at the bottom, I pulled at an angle on the towel and managed to SLAM my right index finger, right above the second knuckle, into the metal edge on the trash can and its a good thing nobody was around cause I couldnt hold back the curses that time, still hurts, think I might have bruised the bone. Lunch was blissfully uneventful but I was told to check back at the registers when I came back so up I went, and was immediately put back on the register...that was at 7:30pm and I didnt get released for the last time until 8:45pm. So at this point I had just over an hour left until I had to leave and I hadnt so much as touched either of my departments so of course they were both trashed. Took my 15min break, cause face it at that point I really needed it lol, and worked on the mutating monster ladies return cart, didnt even touch accessories. In that hour I got the floor in ladies mostly picked up and 3/4 of the cart put away but it was still pretty bad. Wasnt just me either, the shoe associate spent most of the day on the registers as well and she said that shoes looked like a level 5 tornado had hit it ...I think all around it was one of those days that you want to alternately want to cry, scream, punch somebody, or quit lol Hopefully itll be better when I have to work next but for some reason Im disinclined to hold my breath over it XD never did get that one box of shoe freight put out lol
