So yesterday, Bill says, Want to try that new Mediterranean - TopicsExpress

So yesterday, Bill says, Want to try that new Mediterranean restaurant? He meant the one that just opened that advertises itself as Mediterranean food with Greek flair. Sure, said I. So off we went. The place was practically empty, and you know how that always makes you wonder....In fact, Ive been with people who have walked out of a restaurant they havent tried because there werent enough people in there. But we sat down and everything that happened afterward was supercalifragilisticexpealidocious. The menu was terrific, one of those where you say to yourself, This. NO, this. NO! THIS!! The service was divine. (And as Im sure you know, not many people being there does NOT guarantee good service, sometimes its the opposite.) But the service was so good and the people so accommodating about everything. We ordered some things and our waiter suggested we split a salad rather than get two which I loved, he was exactly right, we would have had way too much food. We got a spread sampler with the most delicious pita bread, which I cant stop thinking about. We got a village salad, ditto. And we got saganaki, which is always so much fun, even though you think your hair is going to catch on fire. We talked to the people about how hard is must have been for them to open a restaurant 2 weeks ago, in the midst of this terrrible weather, and they acknowledged that yes, it had been hard. And they looked very sad. Bill said, Well, I hope you stay here. And I started getting that terrible feeling you get when you visit the dog pound and cant take them all home. So I am telling as many people as I can about this place. Theyre so nice and hopeful and the food is SO GOOD. Im going back today for lunch. I may go back for dinner, too.
