So, yesterday I had a really scary experience. At 5 in the morning I was merging on the Edens expressway and as I was accelerating my gas pedal went all the way down and would not come back up. The brakes wouldnt work either. I was going down the highway at 60 mph with no way to stop. Fortunately, after about a minute the brakes engaged and I was able to get off the highway. The car seemed perfectly normal so I drove home. We took the car to our mechanic who said the sheath around the cable on the gas pedal had split, he had never seen anything like it before. He fixed it and we sold the car to Carmax. I am the new owner of a 2013 Honda CRV. This really was the scariest thing that has ever happened to me. I am so thankful that it was early in the morning and there was no traffic. SO, here is the PSA of all of this; if this ever happens to you, try to putting the car in neutral (which I did, and nothing happened), and if that doesnt work, get in the right lane and turn the car off, then coast to a stop.
