So yesterday morning my cat snuck out of my living room window and jumped onto a sharp branch. He stabbed the side of his belly and came up to the door meowing, waking me up. Me and my family freaked and wrapped him in a towel and took off to find an Animal Hospital. We got the run around with people telling us the doctor wasnt in or they didnt take emergencies only appointment. Eventually we end up at a VCA 24 hour hospital in a neighboring city. They take our cat and we wait in the lobby. Later on we end up talking to a vet telling is that he might need surgery but there is no way to tell without an exam and all of this other medical jumbo. I told her I dont have a lot of money. She said shell write us up an estimate and them let us know how much itll be. Later on, she tells us its gonna cost around 400 to 500 dollars and that we need half up front. I didnt have that kind of money. Then she told me to apply for some credit thingy. I didnt get approved so I was back to square one. She said she cant begin to treat him unless we can come up with any kinda money. I was able to come up with 100 dollars. Then they tell me that they need at least another hundred. I told them that this was all I can come up with in such short notice. They tell me then I have two choices. I can take my cat home and hope it heals on its own or I can surrender my cat. At first I wanted to take my cat home but when I saw him he was bleeding on this white towel they handed him in. I stare at him in my car outside the hospital parking lot. I decided itll be less selfish if I just surrendered my cat so they can treat him. It was so hard you guys.. My question to you guys is if you know where they might take him after they treat him? I want to try to attempt to find him? Sounds crazy huh. His name is Shadow. The hospital was a VCA Hospital located on South St and Palos Verdes in Certitos, CA.
