So yesterday, my uncle calls me up with a strange request. Charlie, we need to you come home immediately. Your nephew has locked himself in his room and wont talk to us. All he says is we are turning him into an alien. I hang up the phone, jumped in the car and went home to investigate. I know my 10 year old nephew considers me the coolest uncle ever, so I am the only one he will talk to at times like this. I meet my uncle and aunt at the gate, both visibly perturbed by this strange occurrence and they usher me upstairs to the bedroom. I ask them to retreat downstairs and I knock the door and in the jolliest of voices call out to my nephew to open up. He opens the door, just a creek, and confirming its me, lets me in. I am very curious about why he thinks his parents are turning him into an alien, but I start by asking about things he likes to calm him. There is a new #Spiderman movie coming out this weekend, is he going for that? Did he manage to up his #AngryBirds score? 30 minutes of small talk and joking aside, I dive right in... Talk to me, why do you think you are an alien? Its mom and dad! he says in a whisper huh? I ask, trying to understand Mom and dad are turning me into an alien he whispers again How I whisper back They keep forcing me to eat green veggies and when I go to the bathroom...green stuff comes out of me...like Alien blood :D Fighting back a serious wave of laughter, I bite my lips and hold back a smile as I explain to him that when you eat green veggies, your poop is green and no, you your parents arent turning you into an alien :) #ProblemSolved We went downstairs with him, his relieved parents waved me off and I drove away from the house smiling to myself, I received strange mobile money transaction with many zeros. Then his dad whatsapped to say I hope you received our little #thankyou :O Next time I am broke, I am calling my nephew and advising him to get a new problem only Uncle Charlie can fix! ;)
