So yesterday was my first shift in Hampden. Ill be honest with you all it was a very difficult shift. I was positioned out on the queue. By 3pm when I started the crowds were already starting to form a queue. The security gates were not scheduled to opened until 5pm. By 5pm we have two queues which are over 2.5 miles long!!! Unfortunately the police delayed the opening of the gates for 45 minutes. The sun was boiling hot there was no shade and people were not getting grouchy after being stood inline for almost 3 hours. There were some especially difficult spectators who did get aggressive at times. I found it difficult I will admit was glad to face plant my bed last night! On a brighter note I did manage to catch a glimpse at the 100m semi final! I have enjoyed a rest day today and am all ready and raring to go back to Hampden tomorrow bright and early for my 6:30 am start!
