Soar like an eagle Romans 8:1-4 -- So now there is no condemnation for those who belong to Christ Jesus. And because you belong to Him, the power of the life-giving Spirit has freed you from the power of sin that leads to death. The law of Moses was unable to save us because of the weakness of our sinful nature. So God did what the law could not do. He sent his own Son in a body like the bodies we sinners have. And in that body God declared an end to sins control over us by giving his Son as a sacrifice for our sins. He did this so that the just requirement of the law would be fully satisfied for us, who no longer follow our sinful nature but instead follow the Spirit. With God, we will always prevail. Yet ironically, we continue to struggle, living our lives miserable, whining, complaining, worrying, and falling victim to every temptation and snare the enemy places in our path. Why? Because we have become prideful and selfish and so much in love with this world, our lifestyles, our prestige, etc., that we have become disconnected from the incredible and life sustaining truth of the gospel of Christ. The truth that Jesus Christ provided all of our needs when He took upon Himself the punishment we so deserved. When He died on the cross Jesus Christ provided our only way of escape from the bondage of sin. Jesus unselfishly and lovingly did it all for us and placed it in our hands. In Him, we are free…liberated…delivered…rescued…healed! Today, let us shift our focus to Christ, our Savior Redeemer and soar like an eagle...totally free and secured in the hands of God.
