Social Affairs Minister, Aleppo Governor inspect humanitarian work efforts ------------------------------------------------ Social Affairs Minister Kinda al-Shammat and Aleppo Governor Mohammad Wahid Aqqad on Saturday inspected the work of a number of humanitarian and relief societies operating in Aleppo. The two officials toured hospitals, infirmaries, children psychological support centers, rehabilitation and training workshop, charity kitchens, centers for receiving displaced citizens, and a society for helping orphaned girls. Al-Shammat underlined the massive efforts exerted by of humanitarian and relief societies in Aleppo, stressing the need for more coordination and coordination in this field and improving performance in helping displaced and affected families. She lauded the initiative of charity kitchens and distributing bread among affected people, asserting her Ministrys commitment to support orphanages and societies for helping orphans. In turn, Aqqad said that the government is dealing with the humanitarian and relief issue with care and efficacy, noting that relief and humanitarian efforts have expanded in Aleppo due to the large numbers of families affected by the crimes of terrorist groups. The Minister and the Governor also met officials at Aleppo Governorate departments and heads of civil societies and charities. During this meeting, al-Shammat stressed the need for organization and establishing accurate databases, asserting that the government is working to provide all the needs of displaced and affected families. She pointed out that humanitarian needs amount to over one million health baskets per month, with international organizations providing around 300,000 baskets per month. For his part, Aqqad reviewed the status of humanitarian and relief work in the province, while participants called for increasing Aleppos share of relief and aid and providing centers for receiving urgent cases among displaced people.
