Social media is only about the passing of Robin Williams tonight. Some may take this opportunity to make jokes or troll, but it is a rare thing to see people from all walks of life, from hugely varying backgrounds all expressing their feelings for one person. I had the pleasure of meeting him years ago. He was in Toronto shooting a film and would occasionally pop into the Rivoli and do some impromptu stand up. Very giving to his fans. Please spare a minute to think not only of the actor and the man but of the depression it is said he suffered from. Depression doesnt need a reason. It doesnt need to be rationalized. What it does need is understanding and, above all, help. I wont say Rest In Peace Robin Williams. A guy with that kind of explosive infectious energy would never want to rest. Instead I hope that energy keeps on burning.
