Socialism is not Fascism, which is the marriage of Capital (the means of production) and The State (centralized government). This was the case in the U.S.S.R. as it is today in the U.S.A. While production is socialized, that is we are no longer a collection of independent crafters and producers, the means of production are owned by a collective of non-producers, Capitalist. Socialism demands that the workers own AND control the means, method, and distribution of their own production. The non-alienation of which Marx speaks extensively demands such worker ownership and control over their own labor. Thus, Socialism does not jive with Fascism in any way.
